Pro-Christo Global Missions began in South Africa a decade ago.  From the inception, OM has been very involved.  PGM works in 8 African countries with a focus to mobilise the African Church through discipleship and has sent out more than a 100 trained African workers.  They have a great passion to see churches planted amongst the least reached.

On January 1, 2009 Pro-Christo Global Missions merged with OM, joining forces to mobilise the Church in Southern Africa to bring the Gospel to the unreached peoples of Southern Africa and the rest of the world. The ministry, head-quartered in Kabwe, Zambia has approximately 130 African missionaries serving in Malawi, Tanzania, Botswana and Zambia.

Under the umbrella of OM’s Emerging Missions Movements Key Focus Area, discussions about partnership between the ministries first began with the vision to train OM participants in discipleship, leadership development and practical ministry followed by service on an OM team in Durban, South Africa. With the addition of Pro Christo, OM in Southern Africa has now grown by 130 workers, and many more exciting missions and training opportunities can be offered in more countries.

The goal in the church planting initiatives amongst the least reached in Africa is to help establish communities where Jesus stands central in the community through the local church and where we are engaged in Health, Education, Social Justice and Economic Empowerment to help facilitate this transformation!

We are all very excited about the merger and pray that God will be honoured through this.

Please pray for transition of Pro Christo and OM in Southern Africa as they merge. Pray for the wisdom of the leaders as more opportunities are created for ministry in Southern Africa.
